What is in my work bag this season?
As a timer I use work bag to make sure that I can fix any issue that arises during a race. This has been built over the last couple of years but I am always making changes to my bag for best use of things.
First row is my cables that we use if we need any extras.
- USB to Serial Adapter from StarTech which I have had great success with
- S4 to Computer Cable extra if one is missing or broken
- S4 to Printer Cable extra if one is missing or broken
- Serial Port Cable extender with Gender changer if required to move a computer further than the current cable will reach
My Tools!
- Cable snips and stripper if a cable is broken
- Adjustable wrench to open up boxes if required
- Channel lock pliers if the wrench does not work
- Cable crimping tool for helping with cable fixes
- Multi-Screwdriver for getting into battery compartments or other areas
- Extra Batteries for all of the devices we have on the property
- Flashlight so I can see when we are working in the dark
- Knife for opening up cables or cutting rope if required
- Banana plugs which are replacement if required.
- Pen Screw driver
What is not shown is my multi-meter and a dedicated battery tester. This helps debug issues with cables or batteries.
This is what I have in my bag. What tool do you use most in your bag?
