ACALive Crash “Database Is Full” : This one is an error we have seen a couple times. The current resolution for this is to uninstall ACALive and reinstall it. This will clear the database and provide you a cleaned database to run your race. This will require you to add your Codex to ACAlive again which you are running that day.
Is USB Timy Connection Stable? : Some users have asked if there is a difference in connection stability between serial and USB connection on Timy. This means does USB connection miss pulses being sent from the timer. I have not personally seen this happen but I have heard stories of it. Some ways to make sure that you give yourself the best chance in not seeing this:
- Use the shortest possible cable that you can. The longer the cable the more it works like an antenna for other signals
- Use a high quality USB cable
- Make sure if you have extra cable do not coil it this can cause more issues
- Move all communication devices away from the cables (Radios, Cell Phones)
ACALive didn’t work during the race can I upload later? If for some reason your ACAlive or internet does not work during the race you can always upload after the race. This is done by taking the files or computer to a place with internet. Then with ACAlive running start dTris and continue Run 2. Once you open group the group where your racers are it will push all the data that you have in dTris to ACALive. You can then just click “Start Sending” and leave it running for a couple of minutes and all the racer data will be up on the site for historical viewing.
I get Error 75 when trying to create a new Measures file: This was a tricky one, Error 75 is a generic error in dTris/Measures which says “I cannot write a file” so for some reason the file was not able to be created on your computer. This can be because you do not have permission on the folder you are saving under or that the folder does not exist anymore. We see this occur in two different ways lately.
- The folder which the user is trying to create the measures file in is set as “Read Only” and cannot be written to.
- The folder which measures writes a debug log to does not exist anymore
